Minjoo is a type designer, typographer and graphic designer from South Korea. She studied graphic design at the Seoul Women’s University (2005-2009), where she discovered her interest in type design. After graduation, she worked for several years at Seoul’s successful S-Core (CoreFont) foundry as a type designer. In 2014-2015 she completed the TypeMedia master course at the Royal Academy of Art (KABK) in The Hague, Netherlands, concentrating on research and type design of a Latin and Hangul (Korean) pluriscript. After her graduation, Jan Middendorp invited her to try out Berlin for some weeks, and she decided to stay. During her first six months she designed the Teddy set of fonts with feedback from various Friends of Fust. She then designed one of the first major Hangul display faces, Dunkel Sans, which became a success on Future Fonts, and a much appreciated tool for display and logos in South Korea. She then designed "the Hangul version" of James Edmondson’s joyous Blazeface Italic from Ohno Foundry..
